In the not-so-deep corners of the internet, some people believe that Kendall Jenner has secretly been a lesbian all along. And yes, she’s aware of the speculation. In a new In Your Dreams podcast interview, the model addressed the rumors, clarifying that while she’s not part of the LGBTQ community, she would be open about it if she were.
“You want to know what really bothers me? How mean people are about it,” Jenner said on the podcast. “It’s not with, like, a welcoming arm of like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean. It’s very like, ‘What the fuck are you doing?’”
Jenner explained that while she knows that coming out is “not an easy thing” to do, she feels like she’d be out if she did identify as part of the LGBTQ community. “Knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was,” she said. “I’m not saying it’s an easy thing. I’m just saying that knowing me and knowing how I would want to live my life, I would be. I’d have no problem being that.”
Jenner continued by clarifying that “as of today,” she is not gay, but that she’s “not closing doors to experiences in life” in the future.
“I think that there’s this whole narrative that I’m hiding this thing,” she said. “I’ve seen really fucked up things that are like, ‘It’s bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How?’ I don’t understand it.”
While the lesbian rumors have no true basis, Jenner has dated several famous people in recent years. She’s dated stars such as Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky, and Ben Simmons, and most recently reconnected with Devin Booker, whom she dated from 2020 to 2022. She also dated Bad Bunny in 2023 and 2024.
“When I turned 29, I made a minor commitment to myself. I was, like, ‘I’m not going to reject anything [and] I’m going to stay open to anything that feels like it would suit me,’ but I really wanted to have a ‘me year’ where I chose myself,” she said on the podcast about her decision to pause dating for a bit.
