Heated Rivalry has the most well-fed fandom on the internet right now. There isn’t a single moment on Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie‘s press tour for the hockey series that hasn’t been clipped into a hundred viral posts across social media platforms. Hollywood can’t get enough of their breakthrough act and fans are devouring every piece of content that emerges as a result.
Williams and Storrie’s Golden Globes debut proved to be a goldmine: 34,000 likes on an X post about Williams being a better kisser than his character, Shane; 26,000 likes on a video of Storrie doing tequila shots with Ayo Edebiri; 70,000 likes on their minute-long bit before presenting the award for Best Supporting Female Actor – Television. The awards show was the cherry on top of an extensive run of viral moments from late-night appearances, fashion house events, social content, and more.
There’s more to come. Following Williams’ late-night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week, Storrie will appear on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Jan. 12. The episode hasn’t even aired yet and there are already viral posts about it, including one with 20,000 likes that reads, “Seth Meyers definitely gets a little bisexual with it so I’m excited for Connor to sit on that couch.”
In anticipation, here are the best moments from the overflowing vault of HudCon content.
Williams and Storrie Toggle Between Horny and Wholesome Tweets
In December, Buzzfeed dug up the raunchiest, most scandalizing posts they could find about Heated Rivalry for the latest installment of their Thirst Tweets series. None of them were deranged enough to crack Williams — though Storrie, on the other hand, was slightly unprepared for the heat their fans brought to the game. “Where’s the lovemaking? Why is it about butts getting destroyed?” Storrie asked in an attempt to preserve even an ounce of purity. “What about the caresses? Am I right guys?” Williams didn’t think so, quipping, “What about this back getting fucking broken?”
“They’re Coming:” Williams and Storrie Are the Devil and Angel on Gayle King’s Shoulders
Gayle King has encountered essentially every type of celebrity possible in her storied career. But her night on the Golden Globes red carpet took a turn for the chaotic when Williams approached her mic. The night before, the two were at the same pre-awards show party and King noticed the anticipation around Williams and Storrie’s arrival. “The buzz the whole night, and I’m not exaggerating, is, ‘They’re coming, they’re coming, they’re coming!” King told Williams. Deadpan, he responded, “Yeah, we do that a lot.” Storrie’s separate interview was the angel on the shoulder opposite of the cheeky devil Williams represented, revealing more about his pre-acting background.
What Do You Say to a Room Full of Stars Who’ve Seen You Completely Naked?
Williams and Storrie arrived to the Golden Globes early and took the stage much later in the night. Their appearance came just after The Secret Agent was awarded Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language. In fact, director Kleber Mendonça Filho was played off early so that two UFC fighters could walk out as a security precaution before Hudcon took the stage with Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” as their soundtrack. Hoping to comfort a visibly nervous Storrie, who really played up the bit, Williams suggests he just picture the audience naked. “I don’t really know if that works considering everyone’s seen us… you know,” Storrie tells him. They’re doubtful everyone in the audience has seen Heated Rivalry. They’re certain everyone’s trainers, moms, and daughters have, though.
Tessa Thompson Is All of Us Fangirling
Chanel’s Coco Crush launch party at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont was packed with stars, from Gracie Abrams and Conan Gray to St. Vincent, Maggie Rogers, PinkPantheress, and more. Still, when actress Tessa Thompson took the stage to greet the audience, her speech was derailed when she spotted Storrie in the crowd. “I really love nights like this because you have the opportunity to look across the room, to meet folks that you—,” she said, cutting herself off. “Hi,” Thompson offered Storrie with a giggle and a dreamy wave. “We met upstairs. Everyone wants to meet you.”
Hudson Williams Brings Jimmy Fallon to His Knees
Williams continued his streak as a true harbinger of chaos during his late-night debut on The Tonight Show. He’d discussed the basic of hockey backstage with Jimmy Fallon, but wanted to give the audience a demonstration, too. He offers to teach the host a stretch he often deployed on Heated Rivalry, rising from the couch to settle on the floor instead. Fallon, slightly perplexed and towering over Williams, awaits instruction. “On your knees!” he instructs. “Let’s go face-to-face … This is the best it gets. Carson didn’t do this. Wider, Jimmy. You have to stretch your hips.” You’d think the Stanley Cup was on the line, here.
