The debut of Ryan Murphy’s latest show, All’s Fair, has been met with, let’s say, unfavorable reviews — though even that might understate the whopping zero percent it debuted with on Rotten Tomatoes. Not that the negative attention is weighing on one of the show’s stars, Kim Kardashian, who brushed off the bad reviews and embraced all the so-bad-it’s-good potential of the glossy procedural about high-powered divorce lawyers. (As she has every right to: The Tomatometer has since crept up to five percent rotten, after all.)
On Instagram late Thursday (Nov. 6), Kardashian posted a massive photo dump with the caption, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? All’s Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus.”
The post featured a bunch of photos of Kardashian, Murphy, and her co-stars, along with screen grabs of posts from fans celebrating the show’s ineffable, irresistible, “I’ll still keep drinking that garbage” quality. For instance, one person wrote: “Some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen in my life alongside the most predictable storylines and the most ridiculous styling. I’m obsessed I need 14 seasons.”
Another added: “All’s Fair on Hulu dares to ask the question ‘Does a show need to be good?’ & the answer is no, it doesn’t. We have legendary actresses here giving the worst performances of their careers, it takes a special kind of talent to pull that kind of inability out of them.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kardashian actually deleted an earlier version of the post but then put it back up. And lest you think she might’ve been second-guessing herself after a moment of embarrassment, the second post apparently featured even more memes than the original one.
Of course, Kardashian got the last laugh, too, ending her slideshow with a post noting that All’s Fair is one of the most-watched shows on Disney+ in the world right now. And, for what it’s worth, it’s currently the Number Four show on Hulu in the United States, as of today (Nov. 7).
Along with Kardashian, the main cast of All’s Fair boasts Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash-Betts, Naomi Watts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, and Glenn Close. Recurring performers include Judith Light, Ed O’Neill, and Hari Nef, while Grace Gummer, Kate Berlant, Jack Davenport, Rick Springfield, Jessica Simpson, Kevin Connolly, and more appear as guest stars.
